He will be using the laptop for the next couple years (at least 5 I think) and the budget is below €1500. He likes the keep things simple and prefers ease, which the Mac provides without a doubt, but I am personally aware of the fact that a Mac will cost a lot more for the same performance. What he wants is basically the option to add text over the video and cut some pieces here and there which could also be done in Windows moviemaker if I'm correct. He was looking at the Macbook pro because he liked the easy of use and the he thinks the standard software on the Mac will suit him well.
He only uses it for work related stuff and video editing.

Therefore he decided he wants to upgrade to something better. He tried the older versions of the same software, but those were still too slow for his liking. His current laptop, which I recently cleaned, still isn't fast enough to run modern day editing software. So my dad is looking for a laptop for video editing and work related stuff.
